The following is the expected weather for Wrentham this week, according to weather.com. Tuesday: Isolated thunderstorms, high 79, low 67 Wednesday: AM showers, high 80, low 61 Thursday: Partly cloudy, high 75, low 51. Friday: Partly cloudy, high 76, low 58.

Speakers at Parade Urge Remembrance of Veterans

Memorial Day parade speakers included State Senator Richard Ross, State Rep. Daniel Winslow, town Veteran's Agent Ken Oles and Selectman Chairman Joseph Botaish.

Numerous speakers at Wrentham's Memorial Day ceremony Monday emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifice of veterans. Speeches were given at the Wrentham Center Cemetery as part of the town parade. State Sen. Richard Ross praised the town's commitment to remembering its veterans. "Wrentham has probably one of the best turnouts of any of the towns I have the privilege to visit," he said. He spoke about the purpose of the holiday. "Today is an opportunity to remember the fallen and recommit ourselves to the ideals they served," he said. Wrentham kicked off its Memorial Day parade this morning, with veterans, local youth groups, the King Philip Marching Band and State Senator Richard Ross and State Rep. Daniel Winslow in attendance. The parade started on Randall Road at 10:30am, proceeding to the Wrentham Center Cemetery and then to the town common. Check Wrentham Patch tomorrow morning for additional parade coverage.

Week in Review: Principal Search, 495 Crash and Unemployment

Looking back at the week of May 21 to May 26.

1. The King Philip School Committee met Monday and discussed the search for a new high school principal. Superintendent Elizabeth Zielinski announced that the district had received 40 applications for the position. 2. The Wrentham Fire Department responded to an accident on Route 495 South. One woman was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 3. The Lindt Chocolate Shop at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets announced it would be reopening Saturday, May 26 after a monthlong renovation. 4. The state Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development released local unemployment rates Tuesday. Wrentham's unemployment rate fell to 5.3 percent in April. 5.
