Week in Review: Election 2012, Plainville Residents on Jimmy Kimmel, and KP Turf Field Update

This week Wrentham went to the polls to vote, a local family was on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and KP Athletic Director Steve Schairer expressed the need for a new turf field.

Wentham Election Results 2012 While many parts of the state favored Democratic candidates, Wrentham went against the trend and prefered the Republicans. The Presidental ticket of Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan, Senator Scott Brown, and Congressional candidate Sean Bielat all received a majority of the vote in Wrentham. For the ballot question, Wrentham voters in favor of Question 1, against Question 3 and for Question 3. Voters also gave their support to a non-binding question concerning voter ID.   King Philip and Wrentham Public Schools Receive Security Grant from District Attorney The town of Wrentham is receiving a School Security grant from District Attorney Michael Morrissey. Barack Obama Re-Elected President

President Obama defeated Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden were re-elected Tuesday night, defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney and his vice-presidential running mate Rep. Paul Ryan. NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 11:15 EST. The president sent a message on Twitter at 10:14 saying simply, "This happened because of you. Thank you." The Obama campaign won the most expensive presidential race ever, with both parties raising about $2.6 billion. The race was filled with negative campaigning on both sides, from President Obama attacking Romney’s business experience with Bain Capital to Romney lambasting Obama’s handling of the economy. Barack Obama Wins Massachusetts

A majority of voters in Massachusetts on Tuesday cast their ballot for Barack Obama, giving him the state's 11 Electoral votes.

Barack Obama won Massachusetts' 11 electoral votes on Tuesday, defeating Republican Mitt Romney. In the 2008 presidential election, the state voted for the Democratic candidate, and since the 1990s has voted for the overall winner of the presidential race 3 out of 5 times. Shortly after 8 p.m., the AP called Massachusetts for Obama, along with with six other east coast states and the District of Columbia. Romney and Obama did not campaign aggressively in Massachusetts. The state has typically been a Democratic stronghold in recent presidential elections.  The economy was a key issue for many voters in the state, as was the Affordable Care Act, colloquially known as Obamacare. Senator Scott Brown Votes This Morning at the Delaney School

Senator Scott Brown stopped by the Delaney School this morning to cast his ballot for the 2012 general election.

Senator Scott Brown kicked off his Election Day early this morning by voting at the Delaney School. Arriving around 7:15 a.m. with his wife Gail Huff and daughter Ariana, the Senator and his family had to wait a little bit as the line to vote did extend out of the Delaney School gym and almost out of the school's entrance. "I've never seen it this crowded. I've obviously been here almost 25 years and town's done a great job setting everything up being organized but it's been fun and I'm encouraging everyone to get out and vote," Brown said. As far as turnout, Brown believes that 70-75 percent of the state will turnout to vote today. After casting his vote, Brown said that he is now looking forward to finding out the results tonight. Undecided Voters: What Are You Waiting For?

Haven't made up your mind who to vote for?

A new NBC News/WSJ poll shows President Obama at 48 percent and Mitt Romney at 47 percent. That suggests there are still a bunch of undecided voters. The candidates are both out getting their messages to voters in a final push before the ballot. Are you still undecided? If so, what is going to make up your mind between now and Tuesday? Voting for the 2012 General Election will take place at the Delaney School tomorrow from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tomorrow, Wretham and the rest of the country will go to the polls to vote in this year's Presidential election.
