Severe Weather Possible Tuesday Afternoon

Thunderstorms may develop between 1-4 p.m. across the area.

It's warm. It feels humid. And the sun is high in the sky. That's a recipe for severe weather.  The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement alerting area residents for the risk of strong to severe thunderstorms today. Some of these storms are predicted to produce damaging wind, hail, lightning and heavy rain. These storms are expected to develop between 1-4 p.m. Towns along the Mass Pike are expected to be in the thunderstorm zone. "That hazy sunshine will boost temps up into the low 80s by early to mid afternoon across much of the region," WHDH meteorologist Jeremy Reiner said on his blog. Snow Will Exit Quickly; Keep an Eye on Monday's Weather

WHDH-TV weatherman are keeping a close eye on a possible snow Monday.

  Last night's snow could be a memory today as the melting is expected to be quick, according to WHDH-TV. Today is expected to be in the low 40s after some early clouds and flurries give way to partly sunny skies. Depending on where you live, you were either expected to have 1-3 inches or to 3-5 inches the more south you go. (Check the map to see what you are expected to get when everything is done.)  "Chilly air will follow (today), and although I can't promise a lot of sun, we'll still do some melting. Winter Storm Warning, Advisory In Effect for Area Tuesday

The worst of the weather is expected to hit during the morning commute, according to forecasts.

It will be one messy commute for residents in Wrentham Tuesday morning.  Anywhere from 2-4 inches will fall in Wrentham, according to WHDH Weather, with some areas west receiving anywhere from 4-8 inches. Snow is expected to mix with sleet and rain inland by midday. A winter storm warning was put into effect for Western Norfolk County from 2 p.m. Monday p.m. through 11 a.m. Tuesday. Meanwhile, a winter storm advisory was put into effect for Eastern Norfolk County through 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to WHDH. The good news? The weather is looking good for St. Patrick's Day.

1. Only a few flurries will be around this weekend, according to WHDH-TV. Today, it will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with temperatues in upper 30s to low 40s. There will be some snow showers Saturday with highs near 40. St. Patrick's Day is a little colder with tempertures, but it will mostly sunny. 2. The Fiske Public Library will be presenting Big Ryan's Tall Tales, Saturday March 23, at 10:30 a.m. for ages 0-4. Big Ryan’s Tall Tales has been telling stories for over 11 years. This program focuses on puppet play and music and movement. The program lasts about 30 minutes.
