Layman Scores Win for University of Maryland Men's Basketball
Former King Philip High standouit Jake Layman led the University of Maryland to a win over Virginia Tech.
In his Atlantic Coast Conference debut, former King Philip High standout Jake Layman made it a memorable one, scored 18 of his 20 points in the first half as the University of Maryland men's basketball team defeated Virginia State, 94-71, Saturday. It was Maryland's 13th consecutive win. "It's ACC time," Layman said. "We all had to step up, and I think I was ready for it. It was a great game for us." Layman stepped in the starting role when Nick Faust was injured.The former Warrior went 6 for 7 from the floor and 4 for 5 from three-point range.
