Enjoy the big game with big flavor.
I know you're upset the Patriots aren't playing in the Super Bowl, but stop claiming you're going to skip the big game. You have to watch, or you aren't an American. Besides, now that your team isn't playing, you can relax and enjoy the party without having to worry about every play. Your blood pressure will rise because of all the snacks, not because of iffy calls by the refs. The best features of the Super Bowl, in order, are watching the commercials, eating party food, hanging out with friends (just don't talk while the commercials are playing), making ridiculous bets and actually watching the game. Unlike other media members, I'm not going to spoil the commercials for you, it's too late in the week for me to find you friends and I am …
A Ravens cheerleader has been making headlines for the reasons she says she was banned from cheering on Super Bowl Sunday.
The story of a Baltimore Ravens cheerleader who said she was disciplined for weight gain—and believes this is a reason she was left behind from the Super Bowl—has been making headlines across the country. Cheerleader Courtney Lenz said she thinks her team didn't take her to the Super Bowl was because she gained 1.6 pounds. Admittedly, her story has changed through the week: Yahoo Sports noted she first said the team was upset because she had chosen to retire at the end of the season. She later told Good Morning America she thought the decision was because of her weigh-in. The alleged snub led to supporters starting an online petition to reinstate her, The Huffington Post reported. The team has said they picked cheerleaders for the Super …

Season ticket holders were surprised this week with a recorded phone message from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady thanking them for their support this season. Here’s the transcript of Brady’s message to the team’s season ticket holders: "Hi, this is Tom Brady calling. On behalf of the entire Patriots organization, I want to thank you for the tremendous support you showed our team this past season. As many across New England try to rebound from another heart-breaking Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants ... we try to lighten the mood for our fellow Patriots fans in mourning by revisiting a part of Super Bowl XLVI that has nothing to do with the game itself – the commercials. Today we are asking: What was the best Super Bowl commercial of 2012? This year's ads featured plenty of Super Bowl Sunday staples—funny babies, cute dogs and a bunch of celebrities (Jerry Seinfeld, Clint Eastwood, Betty White and David Beckham, to name a few). The Associated Press reports that companies paid an average of $3.5 million for a 30-second spot during Sunday's game, which was expected to attract 111 million-plus fans. However, nearly half of the 70…

Foxborough selectmen discussed reaching out to the board of selectmen in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
In what is the annual tradition of a "friendly bet" between government officials during championship games, this year's Super Bowl match up between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants proves no different. On the heels of Tuesday's announcement featuring Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's "friendly Super Bowl wager," Foxborough selectmen discussed reaching out to the board of selectmen in East Rutherford, New Jersey to place their own "choice bet." "Last time we were in the Super Bowl with the Giants, [we reached out] to the board in East Rutherford," said selectman Mark Sullivan. Board members recalled the last Super Bowl between the rival teams, making a "choice bet" to wager clam …
