Obituary: Jeannine Civilinski of Wrentham

The wake for Jeannine Civilinski will held today at the RJ Ross Funeral, followed by service at St. Mary's Church Tuesday.

  (From the RJ Ross Funeral Home) Jeannine Civilinski, 79, of Lakeside Ave., Wrentham, died on March 6, 2013 in Norwood Hospital.  She was the loving and devoted wife of John “Jack” Civilinski. Born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, on June 18, 1933, she was a dear daughter of the late Abraham and Leona (Cote) Lagace’.  Raised and educated in Drummond, Canada, she and her family have made their home in Wrentham for the past 35 years. Formerly of Bourne, she had immigrated to the US in 1957. She enjoyed homemaking and raising her family on Lake Archer in Wrentham.  In addition to her husband she leaves loving children, John C. Civilinski of Jamaica Plain, Jay T. Civilinski of Wrentham, and Jacqueline Lake of Plainville. She was the …

Catholic Churches Take Precaution Against Flu; Communion Wine, "Sign of Peace" Can Be Suspended

The Archdiocese of Boston is taking steps to stop the spread of the flu.

Parishioners at Saint Mary's in Wrentham and other local Catholic churches may notice something different this weekend. The Archdiocese of Boston announced this week that it is allowing priests to suspend the distribution of wine from a common chalice during Communion as a precaution because of the recent flu outbreak, The Boston Globe reported. Churches were also notified that parishioners could exchange a sign of peace by “bowing to nearby parishioners instead of shaking hands,” reported The Globe. Earlier this week, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino declared a state of health emergency because of the flu outbreak and some nearby communities have also ran out of flu vaccine.

Obituary for William L. Daniel Jr.

The wake for Wrentham police and fire dispatcher, William L. Daniel will be held today and the funeral will be Saturday.

  William L. Daniel Jr., of Wrentham, where he has lived since 1968, died Monday, May 28, 2012, following a brief illness at the Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston. He was 55. Mr. Daniel had been the Wrentham Police, Fire, and EMS dispatcher since 1981 Born in Boston, he was the son of William L. Daniel Sr., and the late Anne (Mulhern) Daniel, and was a graduate of King Philip High School, class of 1973, and held an Associate Degree in business management from Boston College and Fisher College. Mr. Daniel had served as the Civil Defense Director since 1987, Special Police Officer since 1984, and Call Firefighter and EMT since 1980.
