Shirley Ann Theresa Swanson, 73, of Norfolk, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday May 13, 2013. She was the beloved wife of William Herman Swanson to whom she was married on July 26, 1959. Born in Boston on March 16, 1940, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Gempka) Bruneau. She had attended Readville Schools, and was a graduate of the Walpole High School. She was a lifelong homemaker, and she and her husband enjoyed raising their four children in Norfolk. Shirley had been an avid volunteer within the Parish of St. Jude’s in Norfolk. She had also been very involved with the healing ministry of Fr. Joe McDermott at the Parish of the Immaculate Conception in Stoughton. She was …

Born in Providence, R.I., on July 14, 1952, he was a dear son of Betty (Wright) LaPointe and the late Edmond LaPointe. He was a graduate of the King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham in the class of 1970. Brad was a former member of the Wrentham Men’s Softball League, and had played with the league for many years. He was a plumber by trade having worked for his parents at the former B & E Plumbing and Heating in Norfolk. Most recently he had been a driver for Kiessling Transit Inc. of Norfolk. Joan M. Donovan, 92, of Wrentham, died peacefully in her home on May 8, 2013 in the company of her loving children. She was the beloved widow of Daniel F. Donovan who predeceased her on Feb. 12, 2004. Born in Westwood, on June 1, 1920, she was a dear daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Burdett) Shepherd. She was a graduate of the Dedham High School. Joan had once owned her own beauty shop. An avid gardener, she also enjoyed her role as a mom and as a homemaker. Her family and her grandchildren meant everything to her. She was a talented artist and musician who loved to play piano, knit, crochet, and to hook rugs. Clifford Harland White, 81, of Berry Street, Wrentham, and of Cortez Road, Bradenton, FL, died April 5, 2013. He was the beloved husband for 58 years of Clara (Lohne) White. Born in Franklin, on July 6, 1931, he was a loving son of the late Harland E. and Mary R. (Legge) White. He was a graduate of Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute in Boston. Mr. White served his country faithfully as a member of the United States Navy, during the Korean War. He was inducted in Boston on Oct. 10, 1950 and was discharged with the Rank of CS2 on July 23, 1954. Vickory, Sr. (1935-2013) On Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, Gary Stephen Vickory Sr., 77, of Wrentham, died, with family by his side after a valiant and courageous battle to recover from a catastrophic stroke. He had fought bravely for several years with cancer, but it was ultimately the stroke that took him from us. Gary was born on Nov. 21, 1935 in Ramseur, NC, the son of the late Bynum Vickory and Alfreda (Yurkowicz) Vickory. He graduated Walpole High School and later received his degree from Bryant and Stratton Business School in Boston. Gary served his country willingly in the Korean Conflict. She grew up in Iowa and Kansas, but had also lived in New York, Illinois, Michigan, and Massachusetts during her long life. Catharine was a resident of Centerville for the past 21 years, recently moving to Wrentham to live with her son Peyton Beals and his wife Kim.
