Selectmen to Ask For Delay in Medical Marijuana Law

With a 3-2 vote, the Wrentham Board of Selectmen will petition State Senator Richard Ross to support a delay in the implication of the state's laws concerning medical marijuana.

While the voters of Massachusetts gave their approve for medial marijuana with the passing of Question 3 during November's election, the Wrentham Board of Selectmen will be asking for a little more time to prepare for the legal use and distribution of the drug. While the law is suppose to go into effect 45 days after being approved, some towns believe they need more time to draft zoning laws for where medical marijuana can be sold. The discussion came up after the board received a letter from the Walpole Board of Selectmen, asking the Wrentham selectmen to petition State Senator Richard Ross in support of a delay in the implication of the law. New Poll Gives Warren a 6 Point Advantage Over Brown, Obama Leads In Mass. by 14 Points

A new poll from Public Policy Polling shows Elizabeth Warren leading Senator Scott Brown 50 percent to 44 percent and President Barack Obama leading former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney 55 percent to 41 percent.

A new poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP) shows increased support for Elizabeth Warren but a decrease in support for President Barack Obama. The poll of 1,051 likely Massachusetts voters gives Warren a 50 percent to 44 percent lead over Senator Scott Brown, the largest yet for Warren in polling done by PPP. The margin of error is +/- 3.0 percent. Based on the poll, Brown's approval ratings are decreasing. Down a net 14 points from last month's PPP poll, 49 percent of voters approve of the job Senator Brown is doing while 42 percent disapprove. Last month, his approval rating was at 55 percent and his disapproval rating was 34 percent. Warren's favorable/unfavorable numbers continue to be close as 49 percent of those polled have a …
