A decision of the expiring farm bill has been extended another year, preventing milk from doubling in price.
Milk prices won't be doubling after all, according to report on the Huffington Post. Instead, the expiring farm bill will be extended one more year, allowing the direct subsides to growers to be continued. There is no time table for the vote on the bill to be taken in 2013. Farm-state lawyers agreed to the extension Sunday as milk was expected to double in price to $7 a gallon if the bill was allowed to run out. Oklahoma Republican Representative Frank Lucus, the chairman of the House of Representatives' Agriculture Committee, was hoping the bi-partisian bill would be signed by President Barrack Obama by Jan. 1. President Barrack Obama announced John Kerry is his choice to be Secretary of State Friday.
If President Barack Obama has his way, Massachusettts Senator John Kerry will be replacing Hilary Clinton as Secretary of State, according to a Huffington Post report. Obama nominated Kerry for position Friday after much speculation that the Massachusetts senator was his choice for the position. If Kerry is appointed, an interim senator will be named to the position before a special election can be held. There is also speculation that Senator Scott Brown (R-Wrentham) will run for the senate after losing the general election in November to Elizabeth Warren. President Barrack Obama is expected to nominate Senator John Kerry for Secretary of State, leading to speculation that Scott Brown will run again.
The Huffington Post is reporting Senator John Kerry (D-Mass) will be President Barrack Obama's choice to be replace Hilary Clinton as Secretary of State. Sources tell ABC's Jake Tapper that Kerry's name will be put up for nomination. If Kerry's nomination is confirmed, that will lead to speculation of another US Senate run by Scott Brown. The Wrentham Republican lost the senate seat to Democrat Elizabeth Warren in the November elections and will be leaving in January. Brown gave a farewell speech of the Senate floor this week. He was elected in a special election to replace the late Ted Kennedy.
