Plainville's gaming consultant to talk about slots at Plainridge.
Cummings Associates, the Plainville's gaming consultant, will conduct a "Kick-off Forum" to describe its plans to analyze the impacts and benefits of the potential licensing of 1,250 slots at Plainridge Racecourse tonight. The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m. at the Wood School cafeteria. The Cummings Associates' purposal and an information are available at the town's website. Developers are proposing to build a 1,250 slot machine parlor at Plainridge Racecourse in Plainville, which is now among nearly a dozen eyeing the state's only slot parlor gaming license. The deadline for application landed on Tuesday.
Plainridge Racecourse in Plainville is now among 10 other entities eyeing a slots parlor license, according to media reports this week. The Plainville track filed its application for the license with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission several months ago, according to a report on WHDH, and park president George Carney said that after filing the application, he was confident he could win the competition. The changes in Wrentham's trash pickup were noticed when they started last month. As chairman Joe Botaish mentioned, he heard plenty of complaints during Wrentham Day. To help explain why there seems to be a difference in quality since Waste Management took over, Michael Lavin was asked to come in front of the board to help clarify the differences. According to Lavin, the main difference between American Waste, the town’s previous trash collector and the current collector, Waste Management is that Waste Management is less lenient on the rules that existed even when the town used American Waste. “The only real change that started with the flyer was the change in the telephone number,” said Lavin who was referring to Waste Management's phone…

Plainridge Racecourse is cancelling their live racing for Thursday, June 21, because of the extreme heat conditions. The next live card will be Monday, June 25.
