Cupcake Charlie's is now open for business at Patriot Place in Foxborough after a successful grand opening celebration Saturday. The family event featured cupcake giveaways, face painting, a photo booth, DJ and games for childern. The Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center at Patriot Place will host a blood drive on Thursday, April 25 from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on the Patriot Place concourse next to the Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center. Blood donations will be taken inside the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile near Gillette Stadium’s Bank of America gate. All who are planning to donate on April 25 are encouraged to schedule their blood donation appointment for that day. Walk-ins are taken as time allows. Expressing a desire to expand its business opportunities at Patriot Place, Kraft Group representatives unveiled plans to the Foxborough planning board Thursday to add a second hotel, “quick-serve” restaurant and a “daily needs” retailer adjacent to Route 1 complex's North Marketplace. Dan Krantz, the Kraft Group’s director of site development, briefed the board Thursday on plans to develop an approximately 4,500 square foot "quick-serve restaurant," a 14,000 to 16,000 square foot “daily needs retailer," and a 125 to 150-room hotel in the parking lot adjacent to Route 1 just south of the existing Renaissance Hotel. The event is on March 16 and starts at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $10 at the door. The popular event will feature live performances by Irish musicians and step dancers, Irish food and Irish-themed activities for children. Joshua Tree, the nation’s premier U2 tribute band, will headline the live musical performances. Brigham and Women’s / Mass General at Patriot Place is expanding its world class health care center to offer more primary care and specialty clinics in Foxborough. “Biggest demand the health care center has is for primary care and that is where they are focusing [the expansion project] for primary care and some other specialty clinics,” said Patriot Place general manager Brian Earley. Earley said Brigham’s expansion project will take place on the third floor of the health care center with phase I of the project expected to be completed in June. “Third floor was never fully built out and Brigham had an option on that and exercised that option because they needed to expand,” Earley said.
