The New England Patriots gave the Newtown, Conn. community a reason to smile this past Saturday – 154 days after unspeakable tragedy struck the small, quiet town. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, quarterback Ryan Mallet and punter Zoltan Mesko held a youth football clinic for 150 high school students with disabilities this week at Harvard University.
The New England Patriots teamed up with AccessSportAmerica this week to participate in a football skills clinic for 150 high school students with disabilities. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick joined quarterback Ryan Mallet and punter Zoltan Mesko instructed the students at Harvard University’s Harvard Stadium on Wednesday, May 8. Belichick, Mallet and Mesko worked with members of the Harvard football team to assist with instruction at skill stations, such as throwing, catching and blocking. AccesSportAmerica is a national non-profit organization, which inspires higher function and fitness for children and adults living with disabilities through high-challenge sports and training.

A look at some of the personalities that have come to live and work in Wrentham.
Wrentham has some long history, but did you know it also has been home to some major people? Probably the most famous was Helen Keller, who shared a home here in 1896 with Anne Sullivan. In the summers of 1898-1903, they lived in a cottage Sullivan rented on Lake Pearl. In 1903, they moved to 349 East St., where Keller lived until 1917. Educator Horace Mann, made famous by many streets and plazas in Franklin, studied law in Wrentham. Mann was an educator, congressman and the first secretary of the newly created Massachusetts Board of Education, the first such position in the U.S. Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane once lived here as well, and actor Mark Wahlberg still currently owns a summer home here, according to IMDB.com. Science fair begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the Putnam Club East of Gillette Stadium.
For the last five months, students from 17 New England Boys & Girls Clubs have participated in the fifth annual “Science of Sports” Science Fair, a youth outreach and mentoring program that uses sports as a context to teach the principles of math and science. On Sunday that interactive and exciting program is coming to Foxborough with more than 120 “Science of Sports” middle school students from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire Boys & Girls Clubs and their Raytheon mentors competing at The Putnam Club East of Gillette Stadium. The Pats also traded a seventh round (229th overall) and running back/returner/US Olympic sprinter Jeff Demps to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for running back LeGarrette Blount. Tampa Bay later traded that pick to the Minnesota Vikings, who selected defensive tackle Everett Dawkins.
