United States Senate candidate Dan Winslow will be releasing his tax returns for the last 10 years.
Republican Senate candidate Dan Winslow, a state representative from Norfolk, released his earnings and the federal tax rate he paid from 2003 to 2011, according to a report in the Boston Globe. He also promised to release his tax returns for the last 10 years next week. “Throughout my campaign I will endeavor to promote openness, clarity of opinion, and transparency,” Winslow said in a statement. “In this condensed election cycle we owe it to the voter to be forthright about our views and our financial records so that when they go to the polls they have adequate information to make an informed choice. In 2010 and 2011, Winslow said he earned more than $500,000 a year, working as a state representative and as a trial lawyer.

After running twice for Congress, Sean Bielat is throwing his hat in the race for US Senate.
Norfolk now has two candidates running for US Senate. After losing two races for Congress, Norfolk's Sean Bleilat has opened up a federal campaign office to raise money to run for the US Senate, according to a report in the Boston Globe. Bielat lost to Barney Frank by 10 points in 2010 and then lost to Joe Kennedy III in November by 25 points. A major in the Marine Corps Reserves, Bielat works as an independent consultant. State Rep. State Rep. Daniel Winslow (R-Norfolk) is expected to announce Tuesday on whether he will be the running for the United States Senate, according to a report in the Sun Chronicle. Winslow told the Associated Press that he has been urged by supporters to run for the seat previous held by John Kerry. Senator Scott Brown wants the widow of the late Senator Ted Kennedy to stay neutral in the Massachusetts US Senate race as a condition for a debate at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate. Victoria Reggie Kennedy today, according the Boston Globe, rejected Brown's (R-Wrentham) request to stay on the sideline. Brown is running against Democrat Elizabeth Warren, who is a Harvard Law School professor. Mrs. Kennedy decision could end the debate planned for late September. Brown also doesn't want MSNBC to host the debate.
