Former King Philip Standout Tatupu Injuried; Out for Season

Lofu Tatupu suffered a season-ending injury, according to a report on ESPN. After sitting out the 2011 season, Tatupu signed with the Atlanta Falcons in the offseason.

  Former King Philip standout Lofa Tatupu missed the entire 2102, because of a injury, according to a report on ESPN. After being out of the NFL last year after being released by Seattle, Tatupu signed with the Atlanta Falcons in the offseason. Tests Tuesday showed the middle linebacker at a pectoral injury, which will require season-ending surgery. Tatupu signed a two-year deal with Atlanta. Former King Philip Standout Tatupu Back in NFL With Atlanta Falcons

Former King Philip High standout Lofu Tatupu is back in the NFL after a year away from the game, attempting to win a job with the Atlanta Falcons.

    Afer being released by the Seattle Seahawks last year. it looked like former King Philip High standout Lofu Tatupu was going to be done with his Pro Bowl football career. “At a certain point I just stopped working out,” Tatupu said Tuesday to the greenvilleonline.com. “I thought it was over. I was really ready to send those papers in.” Now, three-time Pro Bowl middle linebacker is at the Atlanta Falcons mini-camp, trying to return to the NFL after missing the entire 2011 season. “I’m excited about the whole process and just being back playing ball again,” Tatupu said. Tatupu Inks Contract With Atlanta Falcons for 2012 Season

After sitting out the 2011 season after being released, former King Philip standout Lofu Tatupu signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons Saturday to play linebacker for them.

After sitting out the 2011 season, former King Philip standout Lofa Tatupu signed a contract to play linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons in 2012 on Saturday. ESPN.com is reporting that it is a two-year deal for a maximum value of $5.75 million. Tatupu was released by the Seattle Seahawks prior to the start of 2011 and wasn't able to hook on with another team until he signed with the Falcons Saturday. After the Falcons' middle linebacker Chris Lofton declared for free agency, Atlanta had a spot available for the 6-0, 250-pound Tatupu, who was a three-time NFL Pro Bowler for Seattle. Seattle Cuts Former King Philip Standout Lofu Tatupu

ESPN says he could ended up with Tampa Bay.

After the two sides couldn’t agree on a salary reduction, former King Philip standout Lofu Tatupu was released by the Seattle Seahawks after a seven -year career at linebacker, which include three Pro Bowl appearances. EPSN.com is reporting that Tatupu could end up in Florida with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tatupu was the captain of Seattle’s defense and has 549 tackles with 10 interceptions in his career. He also has eight and half sacks. He started his college career at the University of Maine before switching to USC where he played for current Seattle head coach Pete Carroll.
