After two weeks of issues, Wrentham's Sweatt Beach has reopened for public use.
Sweatt Beach has been reopened, according to Wrentham Recreation Director Jeff Plympton. The lake, which had been closed because of a high bacteria count open its doors once again after multiple tests came back with low counts. The trouble started on July 2 when a high count forced the beach to close. The beach opened up a few days later after tests came back with low counts. The beach closed again on June 9 because the last five tests did not create an average under the maximum bacteria count allowed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Aside from one test that thew off the average, the tests have shown that the water is safe for public use according to Plympton. There have been no reports of illness from anyone who has …

Once again Sweatt Beach was closed due to a high bacteria count but hopes to reopen again this afternoon.
Update 3:25 p.m. - The latest tests results show that the lake contains 60 colonies per 100 milliliters of water which is well under the maximum amount allowed. Last week the beach was forced to shut down on July 2 after a bacteria reading came back extremly high. After multiple counts showed a low level of bacteria…
