5 Things Weekend Edition: Parking Ban in Effect, MIAA Super Bowls at Gillette Stadium, and More

This weekend the Wrentham parking ban goes into effect, 12 teams will play MIAA Super Bowl games at Gillette Stadium, and more.

MIAA Super Bowls at Gillette Stadium Gillette Stadium will host six Super Bowl games at this Saturday. Admission to the stadium is $15 for adults and $12 for students. The fee includes parking and admission to all six games. 24 From King Philip Music to Play at Southeast District Music Festival

Several members of the King Philip music program have been excepted to the Southeast District Music Festival in Barnstable.

The King Philip Music program would like to congratulate the following students who auditioned and have been excepted to the Southeast District Music Festival that will take place Jan. 11-12  at Barnstable High School.  Eighteen of these students also received an All-State Recommendation.  Auditions for All-State take place on Dec. 15 at Shrewsbury High School. This is the latest achievement from the program. Week in Review: Adult Business Zone Passes, King Philip Band Wins Nationals, Wrentham PD Arrest 4, and More

Adult Entertainment Zone, Multiple Appropriations Pass Wrentham Town Meeting With a small warrant and a just as small crowd in attendance, last night’s Special Town Meeting quickly went by with only Article 4 being withdrawn and the remaining articles passing with no resistance. The most discussed item on the agenda was Article 7, which created a 20-acre adult entertainment zone near the Shire Industrial Park. After multiple attempts over the years to create the zone for adult businesses, the town voted to approve Article 7 at last night’s Special Town Meeting to create one that cannot even be accessed through Wrentham. King Philip Music Announces Winter Pops The 17th annual King Philip Winter Pops Concert will be held on Dec. 1 at King Philip Regional High School, Rte. 140, Wrentham. This concert is presented by the King Philip Regional High School music department and the King Philip Music Association. This year’s theme is “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and is guaranteed to put everyone in the spirit of the season. The evening is modeled after the Boston Pops concerts at Symphony Hall. Tickets may be purchased at the door, which opens at 6pm for the 7pm concert, and are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.   3. King Philip and Oliver Ames to Host Fall Classic Marching Band Show The King Philip Music Association and the Oliver Ames Music Association proudly announce the annual KP/OA Fall Classic Marching Band show sponsored by USBands on Saturday, October 6th at 6 p.m. at the King Philip High School Main Field. King Philip is excited to be hosting the show again after a two year absence. VIDEO: King Philip Marching Band Previews Fall Program

The King Philip marching band treated friends, family, and fans to a sneak peek at their 2012 program at their annual preview show.

The King Philip marching band performed their annual preview show Sunday night in anticipation of the upcoming fall competition schedule. A supportive and excited crowd at the King Philip Regional High School football field was treated to a part by part breakdown of the performance followed by a full run-through to end the evening. The program, called "The Other Side," follows a man from another world. Board with his surrounds, he leaves his world for a new one portrayed by the band and the color guard. As the performance goes on, the man realizes that this world is not for him and tries to escape to his home. Whether he makes it back or not will have to wait until the band competes.  This year, the Pride and Passion of KP will play …
