Yesterday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, the KP Marching Band won the US Bands Division 4 Open National Championship

On Sunday, November 11, the King Philip Marching Band ended their 2012 competitive season as US Bands Division 4 Open National Champions at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The 87 member strong band brought down the house withtheir show "The Other Side". With a score of 97.075, the Pride & the Passion also won captions for Best Music, Best Percussion and Best Effect. The band also won the US Bands Division 4 New England States competition in Bridgeport, CT on November 3 winning all captions. The KP band is comprised of Wrentham, Norfolk and Plainville students in grades 8 thru 12. The King Philip High field hockey team will be playing Barnstable in the Division 1 South Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at home. The Warriors are the 15th seed in the tournament with an 8-6-4 record, while Barnstable is the last seed, No. 18, with a 5-5-8 record. 3. The Wrentham Elementary School students will be hosting Grandparents/Special Persons day Thursday, Nov. 8. There will be no parking on school grounds, but there will be at Luciano's at Lake Pearl, starting 8:30 a.m. with bus service. Volunteers are needed to assists the guest. The King Philip marching band treated friends, family, and fans to a sneak peek at their 2012 program at their annual preview show.
The King Philip marching band performed their annual preview show Sunday night in anticipation of the upcoming fall competition schedule. A supportive and excited crowd at the King Philip Regional High School football field was treated to a part by part breakdown of the performance followed by a full run-through to end the evening. The program, called "The Other Side," follows a man from another world. Board with his surrounds, he leaves his world for a new one portrayed by the band and the color guard. As the performance goes on, the man realizes that this world is not for him and tries to escape to his home. Whether he makes it back or not will have to wait until the band competes. This year, the Pride and Passion of KP will play …
