According to KP superintendent Liz Zielinski, a turf field at King Philip is progressing.
The King Philip High School is moving forward with its plans to create an turf for the track and field area outside the school. Schools superintendent Liz Zielinski said that the district is currently looking for funding for the turf. “We’re accepting in-kind donations for that and enveloping a plan,” she said. The decision to pursue al turf field came after repeated complaints were lodged. The damage was so extensive on the existing field that the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association decided to have their field hockey tournament game at the Mansfield High School, because it was unsuitable and unsafe for the sport. “We’re continuing to meet and hopefully will have a lovely artificial turf field in the near future,” she said.
