Joe Johnston let the way for the Warriors with 220 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
With six touchdowns and five of them on the ground, KP easily improved to 2-0 with a 40-8 win over the Medfield Warriors of the Tri-Valley League. The running attack from Joe Johnston (220 yards, 4 TDs) came fast and often as KP took a 7-0 lead after a 40 yard run on the second KP offensive play of the game. Getting to the outside, it wasn’t long before KP had their first score of the game. “We’ve been preaching and trying to get our running game going. This is new for him (Johnston) and we’re just trying to get him some carries and the more carries he gets each time he gets a little bit better and gets to know what he’s doing a little bit more,” KP head coach Brian Lee said. After their second three and out in as many series by Medfield, …

The Warriors kick off their season at Dover, New Hampshire on Friday, September 7.
Last year was a historic year for the Warriors as they ended the season as the champions of the Hockomock League’s Kelley-Rex Division and in football’s four team playoffs for the first time ever. Despite losing 7-0 to eventual Division 2 champions Duxbury, it was as far as any team had ever gone in KP history. This year the Warriors are once again in the hunt for the D2 title but like last year, nothing is going to come easy with Mansfield, North Attleboro, Attleboro, Franklin, and Hockomock League newcomer Taunton all on the schedule. Despite the success and 2011 and predictions of similar results this year, the Warriors know what it means nothing once the season begins. “I think the kids realize what it’s going to take to have success …

The Warriors were ranked #2 in Division 2 by the Boston Herald and #12 in the state by ESPN Boston.
With the first game of the year a little over two weeks away, the KP Warriors are already predicted to once again be one of the best teams in the state. The Warriors finished the regular season last year as the champions of the Hockomock League’s Kelley-Rex division with a record of 9-1 overall and 3-1 in the division. The season however, came to a heartbreaking end when eventual Division 2 Eastern Massachusetts champions Duxbury beat the Warriors 7-0 in the playoffs. Don’t be surprised to see the Dragons and Warriors faceoff again this year. The Boston Herald has ranked Duxbury number one in their Division 2 preseason poll with King Philip coming in at number two. While the Warriors have a high ranking, it’s not going to be an easy road …

Nine Hockomock League players took part in the All Star game that saw the South beat the North, 15-12.
Taking part in a yearly tradition, nine players from the Hockomock League and Oliver Ames coach Jim Artz were named to the South All-Stars for the 2012 Shriners’ All-Star Classic Friday night. Raising money for charity, it was also a chance for some of the best players in the state to take part in one last game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. A close game to the end, the South All-Stars snuck past the North All-Stars, 15-12. The North team struck first midway though the second quarter when quarterback Jonathan DiBiaso found Kyle Shields for a three-yard touchdown pass to pull ahead of the South team 6-0. With the South down by a touchdown, it was the Hockomock League players that got the South back in the game. Responding immediately …
