Metro SWAT to Host Boston Strong Responders Workout Marathon at Gillette Stadium for Bombing Victims

The fundraising event will be held Saturday, June 22nd at Gillette Stadium with proceeds being donated to The One Fund.

The METROLEC SWAT team and Gillette Stadium, will host a 26-hour First Responder Workout Marathon to raise money to assist victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, including MBTA Officer Richard Donohue and the family of MIT Officer Sean Collier. All proceeds will be donated to The One Fund.  The workout marathon will be held at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, June 22.  The workouts will be led by CrossFit & Fitness coaches, kicking off at 2:50 p.m. - the time the first explosion at the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Boylston Street - and concluding on Sunday, June 23 at 5 p.m. The event will be open to military and first responders, including police, fire, EMS and hospital emergency staff, all of whom are encouraged to enter teams. …

Boston Bruins Would ‘Welcome Opportunity’ to Play Outdoor Game at Gillette Stadium

Boston Bruins president Cam Neely told 98.5 The Sports Hub Tuesday it would be "exciting" to play an outdoor NHL game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough if given the opportunity.

Could the Boston Bruins be bringing an NHL game to Foxborough in the near future? Maybe. Boston Bruins president Cam Neely appeared on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Felger and Mazz afternoon program Tuesday to talk hockey. Among the topics discussed was an article originated from TheFourthPeriod.com reporting the NHL is considering adding multiple outdoor games in addition to the annual Winter Classic as early as the 2013-14 season. Police Chief: Crowd Behavior During Patriots Playoff Games Was ‘Exceptional’

The following is a summary of police activity and incidents reported from the Jan. 13 and Jan. 20 New England Patriots NFL playoff games at Gillette Stadium, as reported in Foxborough's police logs.

While the New England Patriots most recent playoff run ended in disappointment it did bring the two largest and most well behaved crowds of the 2012-13 season to Foxborough, according to Police Chief Edward O’Leary. “Crowd behavior [during the Patriots playoff games] was exceptional,” O’Leary said. “Things went very well.” In the Jan. 13 AFC Divisional Round game at Gillette Stadium, police reported 44 protective custodies and seven arrests out of a crowd of 68,756. The following week, police reported 33 protective custodies and seven arrests out of a crowd of 68,756 at the Jan. 20 AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium. Public Safety Officials Look to Improve Traffic Flow, Reduce Custodies at 2013 Country Fest

Foxborough public safety officials are working with Gillette Stadium management on several initiatives to improve crowd safety and the overall impact Country Fest has on the community.

Editor's note: This is part I of a two-part series that looks into the public safety planning for the 2013 New England Country Music Festival, which will be held at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 23 and 24. Part II will take a closer look at traffic issues from the two-day music festival. Last summer, Foxborough Police made over 100 arrests and reported over 600 incidents over a two-day span during the 2012 New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium. Route 1, Wrentham Businesses Ready for AFC Game Sunday

Local business owners and Patriot Place gearing up for some serious football business.

Unless you are living under a rock, you know the AFC Championship game is at Gillette on Sunday and businesses along Route 1 are getting ready. John Lightizer, owner of the Red Rooster in Wrentham said he expects good business as well, even as far down Route 1. “Football season in general is good for business,” he said. “This week should be pretty good. Everyone’s going to be coming before the game and we’ll definitely some late night traffic after.” Lightizer added that the playoff game against the Houston Texans saw a serious uptick in his sales. Patriots Readying for ‘Battle’ in AFC Championship Rematch with Ravens

The New England Patriots know it will take their best effort Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC Championship and advance to the franchise's eighth Super Bowl.

Patriots AFC Championship Tickets Go on Sale Thursday

A limited number of tickets to the Jan. 20 AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Jan. 17.

For the ninth time in 20 playoff appearances, the New England Patriots are just one game from advancing to the Super Bowl. That game will be played at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. against the Baltimore Ravens. It is the second consecutive season the Patriots and Ravens will meet in the AFC Championship game at Gillette Stadium. New England beat Baltimore in last season’s AFC title game, 23-20 to advance to Super Bowl XLVI. The Patriots are 7-1 all-time in AFC Championship Games, including 4-0 in Foxborough (3-0 at Gillette Stadium) but just 1-1 against the Ravens in the postseason. Patriots Honor First Responders from Newtown Police Department

Fourteen heroes from the Newtown, Conn. Police Department, including each of the first responders to Sandy Hook Elementary School, were guests of the Kraft family for last Sunday's playoff game at Gillette Stadium.

It’s been just over a month since the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. shocked the nation but the memory of the 26 dead, including 20 children, lives on in Foxborough. The New England Patriots still wear the black-ribbon decals they donned prior to their Dec. 16th game against the San Francisco 49ers for Newtown, Conn. This past Sunday, the Kraft family invited 14 New England heroes from the Newtown, Conn. Police Department to attend the Patriots’ AFC Divisional Round game vs. the Houston Texans.
