Local 7th Grader Takes Home Spelling Title

Anneka Ignatious, a seventh-grade student from Wrentham at Dayspring Christian Academy of Attleboro, took first place in the Spelling Bee of the Eastern Massachusetts/Rhode Island District of the Association of Christian Schools International

Anneka Ignatious, a seventh-grade student at Dayspring Christian Academy of Attleboro, placed first among all contestants recently in the Spelling Bee of the Eastern Massachusetts/Rhode Island District of the Association of Christian Schools International hosted by Parkside Christian Academy of Boston. According to DCA Faculty Advisor Ronda Bootland, the competition in Boston featured students in Grades 5 through 8 who are attending ACSI-affiliated schools in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. After capturing the Grade 7 contest, Ignatious concluded first among the eight finalists – two from each grade – in the competition. This year marks the fourth successive year in which a DCA student claimed top honors in the District Spelling Bee. …
