Wrentham Boy Scouts to Hold Yard Sale Saturday

Giant yard sale planned at Wrentham center parking lot.

The following is a release from Wrentham Boy Scout Troop 131: Wrentham Boy Scout Troop 131 will hold a giant spring yard sale on Saturday, May 19. The yard sale will have a plethora of items for everyone. There will be toys for the kids and other items for adults. Proceeds from the sale will go to Troop 131 to help maintain camping equipment and fund troop activities. The yard sale will take place at the Wrentham Center parking lot at the corner of South Street (Route 1A) and Route 140. It will begin at 9am and end at 2pm. There will be bikes, sports equipment, books, toys, clothing, household items, exercise equipment and more.

Troop 61 Wrentham Honors Three Eagle Scouts

Three of Troop 61's scouts receive Eagle rank.

On Saturday at the Coachman’s Lodge in Bellingham, many friends, relatives and fellow scouts gathered to recognize the achievements of three young men. The highest rank in Scouting, Eagle Scout, was awarded to Colby Anderson, Daniel Young and Shane Loughlin. To earn the Eagle Scout rank, a Boy Scout must fulfill requirements in the areas of leadership, service and outdoor skills. He is required to earn at least 21 merit badges, which signify the mastery of certain Scout craft skills as well as serving to increase skill in areas of personal interest. A Scout must also demonstrate good leadership skills, including organizing, leading and managing an extensive service project, that benefits the community. On a national basis, approximately 2.…

Wrentham Scouts Clean Up Storm Debris

Wrentham Boy Scout Troop 61 cleaned up debris on Veterans Day from the Snowtober storm.

Members of Wrentham's Boy Scout Troop 61 spent part of their Veterans Day cleaning up storm debris from town property. The troop worked eight hours, helping to clean up the town common, Sweatt Park and cemetery. Troop members were accompanied by members of the town Department of Public Works and landscape committee.
