In addition to the businesses that opened in 2012, we want to know what you want to see open in Wrentham in 2013.
During 2012, Wrentham got a new cafe on the common, a new funature store on Route 1A, and even a Disney Store at Wrentham Village Premium Outlets. With the year over, Patch takes one last look at the busineeses that opened during the year. In addition we want to know what you want to see in 2013! From flag controversies to a new 9/11 memorial, 2012 was a newsfilled year in Wrentham.
For a supposedly quiet town like Wrentham, the area had plenty of big events in 2012 from the KP Marching Band winning a national championship to a controversy surrounding hanging American flags. As the year comes to an end, Patch takes a look at 10 of the biggest stories of the year from around Wrentham. 1. The Garden Lane Flag Controversy All that was needed to start the year's biggest controversy in Wrentham was a letter from the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development telling residents of Garden Lane they could not hang the American flag from the exterior of their apartments. There were reports of 20 acres of burning and the smoke can be seen as far north as Lynnfield. Wrentham restaurant named best place to eat on Memorial Day.

Wrentham's Commonwealth BBQ was named by Wrentham and Foxborough readers as the best place to eat on Memorial Day. The restaurant received 24 votes over the course of the week, accounting for 48 percent of the total vote. Nicky's Restaurant in Wrentham and Foxboro's Christina's Fireside Grille were the second-place vote-getters, garnering seven votes (14 percent) each. Also receiving votes were Bar Louie (six votes, 12 percent), Michael's Deli (three votes, six percent) and Waxy O'Connor (two votes, four percent). Readers vote for F. Gilbert Hills State Forest.
Foxborough's F. Gilbert Hills State Forest was named by Wrentham and Foxborough readers as the best place to spend a staycation in the area. The forest picked up seven votes, representing 63 percent of the total tally. Wrentham State Forest (two votes, 18 percent), the Nature Trail and Cranberry Bog at Patriot Place (one vote, nine percent) and the William Rice Recreation Complex (one vote, nine percent) also picked up votes over the week. Foxborough restaurant picks up "best Mother's Day brunch" title.
Foxborough's Lafayette House was voted by readers as having the Best Mother's Day Brunch in the area after a weeklong vote. The restaurant picked up 44 votes, representing 81 percent of the vote. Wrentham's Lake Pearl Luciano's garnered nine votes (or 16 percent), and was the second-leading candidate. Christina's Fireside Grille also picked up a vote in the poll.

Foxborough florist picks up "best florist" title.
Foxborough's Judy's Village Flowers has been named the best florist by Wrentham/Foxborough Patch readers. The School Street business garnered (or gardnered, if you prefer) 78 percent of the vote, picking up 33 votes in its favor. Also receiving votes were Wrentham's Doherty's Flowers (six votes, 14 percent) and Foxborough's Country Cottage (three votes, seven percent). Congratulations to Judy's Village Flowers and all the businesses involved! Check back next week, when the topic will be "best place to get brunch on Mother's Day."
