Three Hospitalized After Dedham Street Accident in Wrentham

A single car accident resulted in a helicopter transport to Rhode Island Hospital Sunday evening

Three people were hospitalized with serious but not life threatening injuries Sunday evening after a single-car accident at 205 Dedham Street in Wrentham. Wrentham Fire Captain Robert Harrison said emergency officials arrived at the scene at approximately 5:45 p.m. to find the driver, an adult female, trapped inside. While officials worked for a half hour to to get her from the vehicle, two other patients were transported to the hospital. An adult male was transported by the Foxborough Fire Department to Norwood Hospital and a female child was transported to Hasbro Hospital by Wrentham first responders. State Police: Crash on 495 in Wrentham

Accident on Route 495 South, one taken to hospital.

A crash on Route 495 South on Thursday morning sent one to the hospital, according to the Massachusetts State Police. According to police, the Wrentham and Plainville fire departments responded to calls about a motor vehicle rollover at 11:07am. The accident took place a quarter-mile before the Wrentham exit on the highway. State police said two vehicles were involved in the incident - a 2005 Dodge Magnum operated by a 56-year-old Provincetown man and a 2002 Mazda being driven by an 18-year-old Pawtucket, RI woman. Police said the woman was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. -Thanks to reader Laurie Brasil for the photo and the tip.

Norfolk County Sheriff Deputy From Plainville Dies in I-95 Crash

The accident involved a sheriff's office motorcycle, and two cars, state police say.

A Norfolk County Sheriff's deputy has died after an accident involving a department motorcycle and two cars on Interstate 95 in Walpole this morning, state police say. The Sun Chronicle is reporting that the deputy involved was Ryan Tvelia, 42, of Plainville. An ambulance took the deputy to a local hospital after the 7:40am crash on I-95 North, north of Exit 9 in Sharon, police said in a press release. "[The] preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the motorcycle was involved in a collision with one car and then was struck in a secondary collision with a second car," the release reads. Second Update: Accident on Rte 1 in Foxborough, Lanes Closed

Injury closes southbound lanes of Route 1.

Second Update: The Massachusetts State Police have released the following information: "Preliminary investigation by Trooper Paul Dockery indicates a 2002 Infiniti G20, operated by Matthew J. Gallagher, 34, of Walpole, was traveling on North Street when he failed to stop for a red light. The car entered Route 1 on the southbound side when the Infiniti was struck by a 2005 Oshkosh cement mixer truck owned by Boro Sand and Gravel of North Attleboro and operated by John Stapleton, 51, of Foster, Rhode Island. Wrentham Accident at 1A and 495

Rollover reported near Wrentham Village Premium Outlets.

Police responded to an accident at Routes 1A and 495 (near the Wrentham outlets) at approximately 8pm. According to Wrentham police, a pickup truck with one occupant rolled over, and the driver was trapped for about a half-hour.  Police said the driver was extricated by the Wrentham Fire Department, and was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital via Medflight.

Town Honors Two for Actions After West St Crash

Actions commended at selectmen meeting Tuesday evening.

The town Board of Selectmen honored two men Tuesday night for their actions following an accident on West Street in November. The accident involved the rollover of a truck on the street. The truck was engulfed in flames, but the driver was removed from the vehicle by two good samaritans. Selectman Gail Pratt read a letter commending the two men — Robert Coyle of Wrentham and Frank Marci of Franklin — into the record. "The selfless and heroic acts of these two good samaritans saved the life of the vehicle's operator," she said. Board Chairman Joseph Botaish thanked Marci, who was present at the meeting. "I'm glad you took the initiative," he said. Marci said he had been in contact with the driver. "He's doing quite well," he said.

Second Update: MSP: Multi-vehicle Accident on Rte. 1 in Wrentham

State Police respond to Wrentham accident.

Update: According to Wicked Local Wrentham, state police are reporting the accident was cleared at 4:43pm. Update 2: Massachusetts State Police have said three vehicles were involved in the crash: Police said the cause of the crash is under investigation. Original: The Massachusetts State Police are en route to a reported accident on Route 1 in Wrentham near Luciano's Restaurant. Both sides of Route 1 are now closed, according to a department release. Police said there are reports of serious injury, with a light pole down and on fire. Inquiries have been made with the town police and fire departments.

State Police Respond to Rollover on Route 495 South in Foxborough

A Med-flight was called in following a rollover on Route 495 South at exit 13 Monday night.

There was a serious, single-vehicle accident on Route 495 South, Foxborough Monday night at 6:47pm, according to the Massachusetts State Police. State Police said a 2007 Honda Civic rolled over into the highway median near exit 13, sending one male to the hospital with serious injuries. Traffic lanes were shut down by State Police and emergency services as they helped extract the occupant. The male occupant, a 32-year-old Raynham man, was med-flighted from the scene with serious injuries to Rhode Island State Hospital. State Police are not releasing the name of the male occupant at this time.
