Security video shows two suspects. Both appear to be white males. One taller, heavy set, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The other was shorter, thin, wearing a dark jacket with a light stripe. William Clark Sr. William E. Clark Sr., 79, of South Easton, died May 14 2013. He was a resident of South Easton for 40 years. Mr. Clark was an Airman 2nd Class in the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a maintenance mechanic for the Grace Company in Canton for 25 years before retiring in 1996. From 1954 to 1959, he served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander stationed on the aircraft carrier the USS Shangri-La.   No matter who the Wrentham School Committee selects as the interm superintendent, there are two things that will be certain. They will be experienced and they will know where the town is. The school committee will be meeting Monday night to decide between the three finalists, Christopher Martes, the former Foxborough superintendent, John Moretti, the former Mansfield superintendent and Michael Malone, the former Plainville superintendent, according the Sun Chronicle. Martes is currently the Norton interim school superintendent, while Malone has filled the same role in Middleboro. Moretti works for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Changes to Good Samaritan Bill Would Cover Police, EMS Personnel

The bill would protect off-duty firefighters and EMTs in emergency situations.

  The Senate Judiciary Committee favorably reported Senate Bill 829 an Act relative to the protection of off duty firefighters and emergency medical technicians out of committee at a public hearing held May 7. Lead sponsor, Senator Jim Timilty (D) Walpole, Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety, filed this bill along with members of the House of Representatives: Chairman Louis L. Kafka (D) Stoughton, Daniel B. Winslow (R) Norfolk, and Aaron Vega (D) Holyoke. The bill seeks to broaden the list of people protected under the Good Samaritan Law in the Commonwealth. “I have a deep appreciation for first responders and the heroism they exhibit while working,” Senator Timilty said. “This legislation protects …

Massachusetts People Don’t Swear Much – Really?

  We Massachusetts people don’t curse much on the phone. Are you #*#@* kidding me?!  Analysis by the Marchex Institute found that Massachusetts callers are the second least likely to curse on phone calls – only Washington cursed less.  Ohio topped the list for most foul-mouthed callers. Marchex examined more than 600,000 calls over a year that were placed by consumers to businesses in 30 different industries. Though Massachusetts people don’t curse much, they also don’t say “please” and “thank you” enough either. Massachusetts was ranked the second least courteous state in the report. (From the Walpole Recreation Department) The Walpole Recreation Department is hosting a beloved tradition on Saturday, May 18, Walpole Day - 2013. The day will begin at noon with an old-fashioned parade including a grand marshal, marching bands, and fabulous floats all competing for a grand prize. After the parade, the festivities continue with a food court with local restaurants and caterers.  There will be school and town groups with fundraising activities like face-painting, crafts, kids’ games, rides, and more.
