Wrentham Legion's BBQ Returning to Town

The American Legion Post 225 in Wrentham is bringing back their Chicken Barbeque this year.

Legion representative Shannon Moore said the practice went down in recent years, but new blood has reinvigorated the tradition.

“They’re bringing it back this year,” she said. “We’ve got a lot of younger members now.”

Moore said the program will raise funds for one or all of their scholarships and community programs.

The cookout is scheduled for all day at the Legion (592 South St.) on August 24.

The cost is $15 per person (two for $25, $5 for children 10 and under). There will be a horseshoe tournament, raffles, children's games and a fire truck on site.

Moore said there won’t be any skimping on the BBQ.

“They’re making everything here,” she said.
