Wrentham's DeRemer Suits Up for Syracuse Basketball

Wrentham's Russ DeRemer is a junior on the Syracuse University men's basketball team.

 

Wrentham native Russ DeRemer is a junior guard for the Syracuse University men's basketball team. Syracuse started the week at 22-7 and is eying an NCAA tournament.

At 6'5, 203-pounds, DeRemer has played in 11 games off the bench for the Orangemen this year.

In his high school, DeRemer played at Xaverian Brothers, St. Andrew's in Rhode Island and at Worcester Academy.  

As a sophomore, he saw action against Manhattan, Colgate and Tulane, while playing against Colgate and Morgan State.

DeRemer has been a standout in the classroom at Syracuse, making the school's Athletic Director's Honor Roll in both semesters and being named to the BIG EAST Conference All-Academic Team in sophomore and freshman seasons. He is the School of Management, majoring in finance. 

He spent his junior and senior seasons in high school at St. Andrew's and was the school scholar athlete of the year for 2008-09 and earned a Rhode Island Scholar-Athlete Award and was a McDonald's All-American nominee.
