Wrentham Diamond League Squad Take Championship

The team of 16-18 year olds ended their season with a win over North Attleboro in the tournament finals.

Lynne Adams was kind enough to send us the following update on Wrentham's Diamond League team that is part of the Hockomock Summer Baseball League.

The Wrentham Diamond team won the Hockomock Summer League championship game Friday night vs. North Attleboro 7 – 1.  It was a nail biter that was 1 -1 until the 5th inning when we pulled ahead 3 -1 and then extended the lead in the 6th to 7 – 1.  The team executed a triple play in the 2nd inning to end a bases loaded situation.  The play was a hit to the pitcher, to home, to first, to third.

Wrentham ended the regular season in first place securing home field advantage for the playoffs. This is the second year in a row the team has won the Hockomock Summer leauge championship.

It was a great season with an awesome team. Nine will be heading off to college in the fall! Many on the team played for the KP varsity team and chose to play for WYBSA instead of playing Legion ball. The seniors wanted to end their career playing summer ball for Wrentham, where they started 12 years ago!
