Winter had been with the show for six weeks after replacing Jon Meterparel, who didn't renew his contract so he could pursue play-by-play work. Meterparel is the voice of the Boston College football and men's basketball teams.

Boston.com is reporting the program director Jason Wolfe told Winter Monday the chemistry between himself and the morning host wasn't working. Winter had worked at ESPN Radio since 2004 before joining WEEI.
