Plainridge Racecourse President Steps Down

Gary T. Piontkowski is retiring as president of Plainridge Racecourse.

 

The Plainridge Racecourse has a new president as they attempt to get slots at the track.

Gary T. Piontkowsi is retiring because of health concerns, according a report in the Boston Globe. He is being replaced as president by John Grogan, the track consultant since 2009.

Plainridge is one of four applicants for the one slot machine license in the state.

“I have known John for more than 25 years and there is no one else more qualified or suited to assume this responsibility and lead Plainridge’s operations moving forward,” said Piontkowski in a statement.
