Norfolk native Matt Hasselbeck has a new NFL home, signing with the Indianapolis Colts Tuesday as a free-agent. The veteran quarterback will be backing up Andrew Luck for the Colts. Hasslebeck, 37, was cut by the Tennesse Titans Monday for financial reasons and the Colts signed him Tuesday.

"A huge thank you to everyone in Tennessee," said Hasslebeck in a tweet.  The experiences and friendships we made in Nashville far exceeded anything we could've imagined."

NFL.com's Ian Rappoport reported the deal was for two years at $8 million, $5 million for the first year.

"I think that would be a great move to have a vet to backup Andrew [Luck] and just teach him some of the fundamentals of the game,"  said Colt wide-receiver T.Y. Hilton on "NFL AM" Tuesday morning. "To have a guy like that would mean a lot to our team."
