Local Youth Football Players Raise Money for Final Four Trip

Team Massachusetts, which includes players from Wrentham, Norfolk and Plainville, are raising money to go to Texas to play in the national championship at the Football University.

Wrentham's Daniel Loewen and Brett Mazer, Norfolk's JC Ralff and Peter Scibilia and Plainville's CJ Herson are on Team Mass, an eighth grade statewide football team, who is trying raise $40,000 by the end of the year so they can compete in Final Four competition at the Football University in Texas from Jan. 2-6.

Mike Mazur of Wrentham is an assistant coach on the team.

Loewen is an offensive lineman, Brett Mazer, a defensive lineman, Henson, offensive line, Ralff, wide-receiver-tight end and Scibilia, running back.

Team Massachusetts, a football team made up of 35 eighth graders from across the state. The tournament began with 64 teams from across the nation and Team Mass. is one of only four teams still standing. This team got this far by defeating New Hampshire, 35-0, Connecticut-North, 37-6, Connecticut-South, 27-0, and Maryland, 34-6.

PJ Vande Rydt, Massachusetts Regional Director  of FBU said, "If the team makes the finals, their game will be as close to a real NFL game as it gets. It will be held in the 65,000-seat Alamo Dome with a full video scoreboard, instant replays and more. It will also be streamed live on the Internet so fans can watch it."
