Layman, University of Maryland in N.I.T. Semifinals at Madison Square Garden

A freshman from Wrentham, Jake Layman will be on center stage and on ESPN-2 tonight as the University of Maryland faces the University of Iowa.

 

Wrentham's Jake Layman and his University of Maryland men's basketball teammates will be playing in the N.I.T. semifinals tonight at Madison Square in New York City.

The game will be shown in ESPN-2 at 9 p.m.

Maryland is bringing a 25-12 record into the game, while Iowa is at 24-12.

The Terps got to the semifinals with a 58-57 win over Alabama. Maryland is playing in the NIT for the eighth time with a 14-6 record. They won the championship in 1972, beating Niagara, 100-69.
