KP's Layman Commits to Maryland
Warriors Basketballer Jake Layman verbally committed to Maryland.
King Phillip senior forward Jake Layman has verbally committed to play basketball at the University of Maryland.
After spending Labor Day weekend visiting College Park and with Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon, Layman made the commitment over the phone on his way home from the trip.
The 6’8” small forward averaged 24.6 points and 13.6 rebounds per game last year while leading the Warriors to their most wins in school history and to the Division 2 South basketball finals last season. The Hockomock MVP also garnered attention from Louisville, Florida and Syracuse.

While Layman gained attention for his season at King Phillip, his stock peaked this summer while playing club basketball for the Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC).
Layman is the third recruit for Maryland, joining center Shaquille Cleare from Houston and guard Seth Allen.
