KP's Explosive Offense to Face Off Against OA's Top-Rated Defense Tonight

KP Football looks to improve to 4-1 Thursday night.

The 3-0 Oliver Ames football team (1-0 Hockomock League) will host King Philip tonight at 7pm.

This week’s matchup features the best offense (King Philip) and the best defense (OA) in the 10-team Hock.

The 3-1 Warriors (1-1 Hock, 0-1 Rex-Kelley Division), coached by Brian Lee (seventh season), come into the game after narrowly falling to Mansfield last week, 27-26. All-league running back Charles Ruffin, who currently leads the league in touchdowns with 10 (nine rushing, one receiving) found the end zone three times (two rushing, one receiving) in the losing effort.

While Ruffin provides a good bulk of the offense (which leads the league with 144 points scored), KP also has a few other weapons surrounding him. Quarterback John Dillion leads the Hock with eight touchdowns passes on the year, while Mile Viola leads the team in receiving.

Led by co-captains Alex Tepper and Brian Rezendes at linebacker, OA has given up just 18 points in three games — the fewest in the Hock. However, OA will have its work cut out for them against the lethal KP offense.

The duo of running backs Carlton Williamson and Sam Langston will look to provide a potent ground game for the fourth straight week, while quarterback Jared Schneider will have several weapons to work with, including Tepper at tight end and a returning Kirk Schuster-Southern at wide receiver.
