KP Football Routs Canton, 37-13

Ruffin, solid defense overcome Bulldogs.

For a time, it looked as if the Canton Bulldogs would pose a serious threat to the King Philip Warriors.

On the first drive of the game, Canton quarterback Anthony Bires broke a 51-yard run on a keeper. The run would set up a six-yard Canton touchdown, putting the Bulldogs up 6-0.

KP, though, responded with a methodical drive, culminating in an 18-yard Charles Ruffin touchdown.

KP would not allow another score until the waning moments of the game, as they came away with at 37-13 victory.
