King Philip Softball Team To Face Norwood in Tournament

The King Philip High girls' softball team will play Norwood in the Division 1 South tournament, Saturday.

The King Philip softball team now knows who they are playing in the Division 1 South tournament.

The Warriors will play Norwood at Brockton game, Saturday at 7 p.m. at home. Norwood blanked Brockton, 6-0, Thursday.

KP is the No. 7 seed with a 16-4 overall.

The King Philip boys' tennis team is also waiting to see who they will be playing in the Division 1 South tournament. The Warriors are wating to to see who wins the Friday's North Attleboro-North Quincy match-up. KP will play the winner Saturday at home in a 3 p.m. match.

KP finished with a 16-2 record and are seeded third in the tournament. Check out all the tournament pairings on the MIAA site. 

The King Philip girls' tennis team will be facing Natick at 4 p.m. Friday in a home match. The seedings are listed on the MIAA web site.

The All-State track meet is scheduled for Saturday at Westfield State University. Here are seedings going into the meet.

Matt Bowers had a big day at the Division 2 East meet Monday at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, winning the long jump, 22 feet, 10 inches, and the triple jump, 42 feet, 2.75 inches, Owen Gosner grabbed a second in the mile at 4:23.32, while Austin Gatcomb was third in the 800 meters at 1:58.65. On the girls' side, Amy Seaberg was second in the mile at 5:16.50 and Andra Olsen was second in the shot put at 35 feet, five and half inches.  Ellery Lyons was third in the triple jump at 34 feet.

Olivia Weir grabbed a fourth in the 800 meters at 2:20.61, while Gianna Bender was fifth in the 400 meters at 1:00.11 and Rachel McNeil was sixth in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:08.07.
