King Philip Boys Basketball Trounces Walpole, 63-39
Warriors win first tournament game in 11 years.
For the first time in 11 years, the King Philip boys basketball team was playing in a post-season game — never mind that they were hosting the MIAA Division 2 South contest against Walpole.
Although the win was very much a team effort, the Warriors were led by junior Jake Layman, who looked like a man on a mission. Layman knocked down a game-high 23 points in every manner possible.
The Warriors (14-8) ran all over the visiting Rebels (12-8) in front of an electrifying sellout crowd to the tune of 63-39.
