King Philip Basketball Advances in MIAA Tourney!

The Warriors upset the number-two seed Wellesley 61-42 in the MIAA Quarter Finals.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way.

Wellesley had the higher seed in this MIAA Division 2 South matchup (number two against number seven), they had a better winning percentage (80 to 64) during the regular season and they were only allowing opposing teams to score an average of 46 points per game.

So why was it King Philip was able to virtually do what they wanted with the Bay State Conference foe in this quarter final contest?

Defense was once again the story, and the Warriors were able to advance with another solid win, this time 61-42. Only two days earlier King Philip applied a stingy defense that allowed the team to beat Walpole by 24 (63-39) and tonight, that defense was again rose to the occassion sending home Wellesley with a 19 point victory.
