It's a Basketball Homecoming for Wrentham's Layman

After being part of the rebuilding effort for the King Philip High boys' basketball team, Wrentham's Jake Layman is making a name for himself on the college ranks.

A year ago, Wrentham's Jake Layman was right in the middle of the turnaround of the King Philip boys' basketball team.

Now, he's making a name for himself in the college ranks as a freshman starter at the University of Maryland. Layman was profiled in Tuesday's Boston Globe on the morning of his return home. Maryland will be playing Boston College tonight at 9 p.m. The game will be shown on the ACC Network.

In the Boston Globe, Layman talks about his King Philip experience and making the adjust to college basketball.

“Coming in, it took some time to adjust, but now I think I’m there and I’m playing to my level now,” Layman said in the Boston Globe. “I knew it was going to be hard coming in to adjust, but for me, it was just work as hard as I could, get prepared for every game. I know that each game there’s an amazing player on each team, so it’s a hard task every game.”
