Former King Philip Standout Ross Stars in Net for Bridgewater State

Freshman Chandler Ross of Wrentham stands out in net for the Bridgewater State women's lacrosse team.

Led by tournament MVP Taylor Clancy (Braintree), the Bridgewater State University Bears captured the inaugural Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament championship as the top-seeded Bears downed second-seeded Westfield State University, 13-10, on Saturday afternoon at Swenson Field.

BSU netminder Chandler Ross (Wrentham) turned aside six shots to record her 13th win of the season.  Olivia Galvin (Mashpee) led the Bears' defensive effort with five caused turnovers.

In the regular season, Ross, a freshman, made 15 starts, stopping 88 shots in 226 attempts for the Bears.
