Former King Philip standout Sam McDonald is a freshman defensive back for the Bentley University football team.
The Norfolk resident was a standout for the Warriors and captained the South squad at the Shriners' Football Classic last June at Bentley University.
McDonald, who is wearing No. 31, was awarded 12 letters in high school for football, basketball, baseball and track.
The Falcons will be opening up the 2013 season against Mercyhurst, Saturday, Sept. 7, in a noon game.
