Wrentham Seeking KP School Committee Representative

Selectmen now accepting applications for King Philip seat.

The Wrentham Board of Selectmen are currently seeking a local resident to serve on the King Philip School Committee.

The board announced Wednesday that it would be accepting inquiries about the position.

The town failed to elect a representative in the elections earlier this month. No one filed to run for the position, and the top write-in declined the position.

The seat was previously occupied by Matthew Gray.

The process for replacing a committee member should a town fail to elect one has the town's other KP School Committee members consulting with the Board of Selectmen. Those people will meet and appoint a member for an interim term.

This process is not unprecendented; current school committee member Michael Gee from Norfolk became involved with the committee after that town failed to elect a representative.

Those interested in applying for the seat can contact the Board of Selectmen's
Office at 508 384-5400.
