Meet the New Wrentham Public School Teachers

Principal Peterson and Principal Grenham introduced the newest additions to the Wrentham Public Schools at last night's Wrentham School Committee meeting.

With the start of school quickly approaching, Principal Melissa Peterson of the Delaney School and Principal Stephen Grenham introduced the newest teachers of the Wrentham public schools last night in a meeting of the Wrentham School Committee at the Roderick School.

“It’s been a quite a long time since I’ve been able to say here’s the new teachers of Delaney so it’s very exciting,” Principal Peterson said before introducing the newest members of the Delaney faculty.

There will be eight total new teachers with both schools adding four new members. The new teachers were a result of a long process featuring a large list of applicants

“The process to find theses incredible teachers was unbelievable and the pool of applicants that we had was rather enormous,” Peterson said. “We’ve very excited to have them and think they’re going to bring wonderful new ideas to our classroom.”

New Teachers at the Roderick School

 

Stacey Farrel - Fourth Grade

Background: Four years in the Needham Public Schools as a paraprofessional and a classroom teacher

Education: Received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts and a masters in special education from Framingham State University.

 

Ian Founds - Special Education for Grades  4-6

Background: Special education teacher in Norfolk for eight years before taking a job as a paraprofessional in the Delaney School last year.

Education: Received an undergraduate degree from The University of Portsmouth in England and a masters degree in special education from Cambridge College.

 

Eileen Cloutier - Fifth Grade 

Background: Five years in the Holliston Public School System before taking time off to raise her children.

Education: Received an undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and a masters in education from Simmons College.

 

Dawn O’Connell - Fifth Grade

Background: Student taught at the Roderick School during the 09-10 school year. Hired as a 5th grade paraprofessional

Education: Received an undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College and a masters in elementary education from Bridgewater State University.

 

New Teachers at the Delaney School

 

Mary Elizabeth Clark - Preschool(Project Blossom)

Background: Former Freetown/Lakeville Preschool teacher

Education: Graduate of Fitchburg State. Certified in early childhood and special education

 

Courtney Tufts - Third Grade

Background: Fourth grade longterm sub in Needham Public Schools

Education: Received undergraduate degree from Hofstra University and a masters from Bridgewater State University. Certified in elementary education

 

Steven Hughes - Third Grade

Background: Former second and third grade teacher in the Sharon Public School System

Education: Received an undergraduate degree from Stonehill College and a masters from Bridgewater State University. Certified in elementary education.

 

Niki Sabatini - Third Grade

Background: Has experience teaching elementary school in multiple states. Former daily and long term substitute in the Wrentham Public Schools.

Education: Received degrees from Oregon State University and Lewis and Clark College.
