KP Wastewater Project Completed

Project passes Board of Health test.

The King Philip School District has wrapped up the wastewater treatment plant project at the .

Neighbors had complained about odors from the high school's wastewater treatment plant. It was determined that a lack of flow created the odor problem.

District business manager Paul Schaefer spoke about the project at Monday's KP School Committee meeting.

"The pressure test was successful," he said. "We're now wrapping up the paperwork."

Schaefer said the district was required to file a maintenance plan with the town Board of Health.

"We have to do an annual test, done under the supervision of a licensed professional," he said.

According to Schaefer, the school's practice field, which was dug up as part of the project, will be re-seeded in the spring.
