KP Snow Day Survey Sees Good Participation

Survey participation discussed at King Philip School Committee meeting.

The King Philip School Committee heard a report on a snow day survey at its meeting Monday night.

With the tropical storm and Snowtober storms hitting early in the year, the district has already used three of its planned five snow days. This, according to a letter from the district, pushes the school end date to June 19.

With the start of winter approaching, the district is running short of days, as school must end by June 30. Thus, the district sent out a survey seeking parental input on using days from February vacation or April vacation, or possibly having school on Saturdays.

Superintendent Elizabeth Zielinski said the survey had gone out to parents.

"Over 1,000 people have already taken it," she said. "It's going to be fun to look at the data."

Zielinski said the survey would close on Friday.

"It's linked on our website," she said.
