KP Marching Band Finishes Season, Placing Second in Nationals

Another successful season for the King Philip Marching Band

After seven months of hard work, the King Philip Marching Band closed out their successful 2011 season on November 12 at Navy Marine Corp Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland at the USSBA National Championship.

Ninety-eight middle and high school students, plus staff and an army of parent chaperones, traveled to Maryland where the band gave their final competitive performance of their successful season of their show, “The Gallery.”

Under blue skies and a mild breeze the band competed against 20 bands from up and down the East Coast. The Pride and the Passion brought everything they had and ended the day in second place with a score of 96.875, six one hundredths of a point off of the first place score. The band was also awarded "Best Overall Effect" for their division.
