KP Making Progress on Wastewater Treatment

Fix for wastewater underway.

The King Philip High School is making progress with its wastewater treatment issue, according to a report Monday.

District Business Manager Paul Schaefer spoke about the matter at the King Philip School Committee meeting Monday night.

"Right now, our contractor is waiting on an inspection by the board of health agent," he said. "As soon as he blesses the leach field, we can put a cover on it."

Schaefer said he hoped things could be buttoned up quickly.

The wastewater treatment issue has been going on for a number of months, as the high school's current system had drawn odor complaints from neighboring residents.
