The King Philip School Committee spoke about ways to improve board business at its meeting Monday evening.

Patrick Francomano, the committee chairman, talked about the committee's meeting space: the high school library.

"We really need to reconfigure this room, or find some way to mic ourselves," he said. "We know the people in the back can't hear."

He said a change of venue could be examined.

"We could move to the auditorium, but it has many conflicts," he said. "There's the middle school. The advantage there is that it's already wired, but the disadvantage is that it's not centrally located."

Francomano said he'd been working with Superintendent Elizabeth Zielinski on the committee agendas.

"We've been meeting every week to make sure the agenda items are what they should be, and the background provided is what it should be," he said. "We don't want agenda items are getting away from us."

He said the he was working on two calendars to help the board with short-term and long-term planning.

"We're looking to do a comprehensive event calendar that incorporates both school and town events we should be aware of," he said. "This will help us avoid conflicts and attend those events we should attend."
