Wrentham to Hold Town Meeting Tonight, Address Issues Delayed in April

The town will take up issues pushed back during the last town meeting.

The town of Wrentham will hold a town meeting tonight to address several major issues pushed back at April's meeting.

The event will take place at 7:30pm at the King Philip High School auditorium.

At April's meeting, the town voted to table articles two, three, four, seven, eight, nine and 10 of the nine-article Annual Town Meeting Warrant. Those articles are as follows:

  • Article 2: To see if the town will vote to fix the salary and compensation of all elected officials of the town.
  • Article 3: To see if the town will vote to raise... such sums of money as may be necessary to defray the regular expenses (operating budget) of the town for the fiscal year 2012.
  • Article 4: To see if the town will vote to transfer a sum of money from the Water Enterprise Retained Earnings Reserved for Capital to the Water Enterprise Operating Budget Capital.
  • Article 7: Asks the town to reauthorize revolving funds for such things as police vehicles, earth removal and festivals.
  • Article 8: To see if the town will pay for an analysis of postretirement benefits.
  • Article 9: To see if the town will approve personnel bylaw amendments proposed by the Personnel Board.
  • Article 10: To see if the town will add money to Wrentham's stabilization reserve.

The major issue for the meeting is article three, which controls the town's operating budget.
